  My favourite places for food.
Shillingford Organics www.shillingfordorganics.co.uk Martin Bragg has a lovely box scheme. He allows you to give your likes and dislikes (next year cauliflowers are coming off our list – I loathe the buggers) and we get salad even in winter. Also lots of mystery veg – I love the winter radish – if only so I can show off with it.
Riverford Meat

www.riverfordmeatbox.co.uk

I think local is always the way forward. Anything that stops a supermarket squeezing the life out of farming is good. Organic is a bonus but not a necessity. The meat boxes from here are really cool. You can order when you want and get a mixed box of meat, makes you think about what to cook, and they often include something to experiment with or try out.
L’Artisan Du Chocolat

Quickest way into my very good books. Not much I wouldn’t do for these. A bag of salted caramels and I am anybody’s. They are often at Borough Market and have a shop in London as well as good online…some Waitrose also now stock. We had these at our wedding.
Poilane

www.poilane.fr

Their bread and some butter is one of life’s pleasures. Buy some either in London or some Waitrose’s.
Dorset Cereals www.dorsetcereals.co.uk A couple of years ago, this company was a dull kind of health food shop cereal maker. Then they got cool. Again, they are regional and I know a bit expensive but the cereals are great. I eat some every day!
Valvona and Crolla www.valvonacrolla.co.uk THE best Italian. Fancy but reliable. If you visit Edinburgh, go to the original shop near John Lewis.
